Browning’s Universal Vault Door is a Duo-Formed door designed to fit a variety of wall types and installation requirements. The minimum rough door opening for the Vault Door is 83" x 36". For new construction, the external L-frame with 1/2 diameter steel J-bolt anchors (included) can be poured in place. Or you can install the vault door in an existing door frame by using expansion anchors or lag bolts (not included).

Door frame “L-flange” will fit any wall with a minimum thickness of 5 1/2"

Limited Warranty:

ProSteel will warrant your safe for its lifetime against damage occurring from break in, attempted break in or fire to the original purchaser of any Browning ProSteel gun safe produced after January 1, 2006. Provide the proper documentation and we will replace or repair (at ProSteel’s discretion) your safe. ProSteel will arrange for and pay the shipping costs both to and from the factory and any reasonable locksmith costs necessary to open the safe.

Break in Warranty:

If your Browning ProSteel safe is forcibly opened, we will replace or repair it at no cost to you.

Attempted Break in Warranty:

If your Browning ProSteel safe has been attacked by forcible means, we will replace or repair it at no cost to you.

Fire Warranty:

<p>The customer service on the door was excellent, delivery was free, and the guy was nice enough to put it next to my garage. The quality is great, as to be expected from Browning, and the matte black finish looks better than my gloss green finished Browning safe. The biometric combination system is awesome, and I would highly recommend purchasing that over the upgraded paint.</p><p>Cons: The other review on this site was very accurate. There is no way to use the j-bolts that they provide unless you purchase your own nuts, fasten them into place on both sides, and then have the concrete poured around the frame, which is what I did. Then removed the inside nut and replaced it with the chrome plated caps that they provided. If you are trying to put the door in to an already framed/poured concrete opening, you will have to purchase your own concrete anchors as did the other reviewer. To me this is very minor compared to the overall quality of the product you are purchasing, but Browning should definitely either provide concrete anchors or more detailed installation instructions.</p>

Rating:

Pros: Was not sure of all the options available and had to call customer service. Customer service was very knowledgeable and helped me order a vault door with left hand hinges. I already had an existing concrete vault room with an 84” X 36” opening and needed a door to slide in the opening and this door worked very well. Door fits well and with all the weight still is easy to operate, paint job is exceptional and quality is great. Delivery was free and door was dropped at my garage as asked.
Cons: The installation kit that was sent with the door was 9 j-hooks that you were supposed to use nuts on the securing end. I am an engineer and there is no physical way to use those j-hooks in concrete even if you have them in place before you poor the concrete. I had to buy new concrete bolts to mount the door in place. Door if 650 lbs. and awkward moving down a flight of stairs, but that was to be expected.
Conclusion: It is a great door and I had the tools and knowledge to install it myself. If you’re not very handy hire the installation done by others. It looks great and functions great.
